The Toledo softball team handled Davis and Kittitas in a doubleheader in Yakima on Saturday, as they defeated the Pirates 19-8 and the Coyotes 8-2 to remain unbeaten.

The Riverhawks (5-0, 1-0 C2BL) trailed 4A Davis 6-3 after four innings, but their offense came alive late.

After plating two in the fifth to get within one, Toledo scored 14 runs in the final two innings to take the lead and run away with it.

Brynn Davis went an astounding 6 for 6 at the plate with a home run, three doubles, and four RBIs. Mialeigh Jurica went 5 for 6 with two doubles and two runs batted in, while Camryn Hurley and Ellie Seely also logged three base hits each and combined to drive in five.

It didn’t take the Toledo offense as long to get going in its second game on Saturday, as the Riverhawks plated seven in the first three innings to take a 7-1 lead over Kittitas.

That was enough for Peyton Holter and Brenna Carver in the circle, as the two combined to strike out 11 and allow just two runs.

The Riverhawks are off for spring break, but will be back in action on April 8, when they host Morton-White Pass in a C2BL doubleheader.
