Toledo Community Library hosts seed swap event

Seeds still available at library throughout this week

For nine years now, a Vancouver family that owns land in Toledo and plans on moving has organized an annual seed swap event at the Toledo Community Library.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, the Wedams were present at the Toledo Community Library to hand out and trade seeds.

Those who attended could take home a wide variety of seeds, from fruits and vegetables to herbs, flowers and more, all free of charge.

Donations were accepted, with all proceeds going toward the Toledo Community Library.

For those who missed the seed swap last weekend, the Wedams left their seed collection at the library for visitors to peruse through this week. People can either leave excess seeds they don’t need anymore or take some home to plant.

The Toledo Community Library is located at 241 Cowlitz St. in downtown Toledo. It is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
