The Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball team opened its season with a bang on Wednesday, taking down Ocosta 15-2 in five innings.
The Titans opened the scoring on an RBI double from Liam Smaciarz in the bottom of the first, but they blew the game open with four in the second and eight in the third.
Blane King and Brody Aust both collected three hits at the plate, drove in a run, and scored two apiece, while Brayden Ruddell and Eddie Clements combined for three hits and seven RBIs.
Smaciarz pitched the first four innings of the game, allowing just one hit and two earned runs while striking out nine, while Lucas Lusk struck out all three batters he faced in the fifth.
The Titans (1-0) will be back at home on Tuesday to host Ilwaco in their league opener.
