Titans pull away in fourth quarter, secure third straight victory

Fueled by two rushing scores from sophomore Lucas Lusk, the Pe Ell/Willapa Valley football team coasted by Ilwaco 36-6 on Saturday afternoon on the road.

Since interim head coach Josh Seymour took over after Week 3, the Titans (4-2, 2-0 C2BL West) have triumphed three weeks in a row. Their defense has allowed just 20 combined points in two league games so far.

It was a battle on the coast for a half until PWV’s Cody Strozyk caught a 13-yard pass from Nate Fluke for six in the second quarter. Blaine King added a 7-yard score from Fluke in the third and brought back an interception for a touchdown.

Lusk’s two TDs came in the fourth frame. The Titans have eclipsed at least 30 points during the win streak. They return home on a short week to host Forks in Pe Ell on Friday night.
