The Centralia boys golf team kept rolling Monday on the road at Alderbrook Golf Course, beating Shelton 236-257 in 2A EvCo play.

“It was cold and wet and rainy, and Alderbrook’s a tough course, out-of-bounds on both sides on all holes,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said. “It was a tough day to score for everybody.”

Von Wasson figured out the elements the best of anyone on the course, finishing at even par with a score of 36 to take medalist honors.

“He just played really smart golf on a tough day,” Gronseth said. “Put his driver away, which is really hard for him to do because he hits it so well … and played with irons pretty much, and played even par.”

Tyler Fagerness and Brady Sprague both carded 48s behind Wasson, Colby Christensen shot 49 and Tucker Weaver rounded out the Tigers’ team score at 55.

Centralia will be back at Riverside on Thursday, hosting Black Hills.
