The Centralia boys tennis team secured the EvCo title and polished off an undefeated season on Thursday, sweeping W.F. West 6-0.

“Winning isn’t everything by any stretch, but it sure is nice when you can,” Centralia coach Keith Hopkins said. “We’ve had plenty of seasons being the underdog, so ruling the roost this year is particularly sweet.”

Zander Corwin, Sylvester Stehr, and Samuel Parkin swept the singles matches, losing just six combined games, and the duos of Jonah Lowe/Kadin Yeung, Jonathon Robbins/Bobby Simpson, and Kycen Donahue/Charlie Stratton lost just four combined games in the three doubles matches.

“This group of guys has been a pleasure for me to bond with, and our chemistry together is the real, true joy,” Hopkins said. “We’re definitely looking forward to seeing how the postseason unfolds.”

Up next for the Tigers is the Sub-District Tournament, where Hopkins said the Tigers are hoping to claim several district berths.
