The Centralia girls golf team took advantage of another fine day on the course Thursday, beating Shelton 73-40 at Alderbrook Golf Course.
“We’ve played two days in a row in sunny weather, and we’ll take that every time,” coach Hal Gronseth said.
Samantha Johnston earned medalist honors for the Tigers with 25 points.
Behind her, Tess McMurry and Emily Wilkerson raised their scores dramatically to 22 and 20 points, respectively.
“We knew they were capable of doing that, so hopefully it builds some confidence for them so they can move on and go from there,” Gronseth said.
Kezra Smith, Zaira Reyes, and Melissa Mora all came in at three points for the Tigers.
Centralia is scheduled to take on Adna in a non-league match at Riverside Golf Course on Monday.
