The Napavine softball team went east for a doubleheader on Saturday, and the Tigers came home with a pair of wins after defeating Mabton 20-0 and 28-10 in three innings apiece.

It was all Tigers in Game 1, as they scored two in the first, 11 in the second, and seven in the third to quickly hit 20.

Makayla Brett went 3 for 4 at the plate with four RBIs. Grace Pancake went 3 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs, as did Maya Kunkel.

In the circle, Hannah Fay struck out six and didn’t allow a hit.

In Game 2, the Napavine (4-1) offense was even better, but even after an eight-run first, the Tigers trailed 9-8.

A three-spot in the second helped the Tigers regain the lead, and Hollie Brockmueller settled things down in the circle. She pitched the final two and two thirds, walking three and striking out five without allowing a hit.

The Tigers put up 17 runs in the third to pull away for good.

Pancake drove in six, Payton Wheeler brought home five, Fay drove in two more, and all three of them went 3 for 4 at the plate.

Taylen Evander only officially recorded one at-bat, a base hit, but she drew four walks and came around to score four times.

The Tigers will open league play on Thursday, when they’ll host Toutle Lake.
