Napavine kicked off its baseball season with a pair of dominant victories over Winlock on Monday, taking both games of a doubleheader 18-0 and 19-0.

In Game 1, Layton Griffith (three innings) and Hudson Chambers (two innings) combined to strike out 13 batters without allowing a hit.

Chambers and Griffith both added a pair of hits and two RBIs at the plate, and Cal Bullock tallied two hits and drove in three runs.

Bullock pitched the first two innings of Game 2, striking out five, while Tommy Deebach and Carter Edmonds combined for three no-hit innings in relief.

“Our pitchers threw well,” Napavine coach Brian Demarest said. “We threw a lot of strikes. It was good to see in the early season.”

Bullock added three hits and four RBIs, while Beckett Landran tallied three hits, drove in a run, and scored three ties. Grady Wilson added two hits and two RBIs while scoring three times, while Chase Shea reached base four times without registering an at-bat, scoring twice and driving in a run.

Both teams are back in action on Wednesday. Napavine (2-0) will head to Randle to face Morton-White Pass, and Winlock (0-2) will host Mossyrock.
