Centralia got its first test of the season and passed with flying colors, upending R.A. Long 4-2 in a non-league dual at home on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers’ No. 1 doubles tandem of Jonah Lowe and Kadin Yeung won a thriller over Landon Irwin and Conner Ward 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. Both Zander Corwin and Sylvester Stehr cruised to straight set wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles.
Jonathon Robbins and Bobby Simpson secured the dual win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. Centralia gets back into EvCo play on Wednesday at Tumwater, which will be the first road dual of the year.
“R.A. Long tested our athletes and it was fun,” Tigers head coach Keith Hopkins said.
