The Centralia softball team battled back from a four-run deficit to tie it against Aberdeen on Monday, but the Bobcats were able to walk-off the Tigers 9-8.

Centralia trailed 7-3 going into the sixth, but a two-run sixth and a three-run seventh tied the game at eight.

The Bobcats turned to small ball to win it in the bottom half, as a single, sacrifice bunt, and another single brought home the winning run.

Chloe Bonomi and Makenzie Erickson both went 1 for 3, drove in a run, and drew a walk, while Ava Horst also collected a hit and drove in a run. Madalynn Rothdeutsch tallied Centralia’s other hit, but several others reached thanks to 10 walks and five Aberdeen errors.

Centralia (6-10, 4-9) now sits one game out of a district tournament spot with two league games to play, but one of those games will be against Black Hills (who currently holds the last playoff spot) on Friday.

First, the Tigers will try to sweep the Swamp Cup season series on Wednesday at Fort Borst Park.
