Three in double figures plus another stout rebounding performance from Aniela Gunn allowed the Centralia High School girls basketball team to triumph over Elma 50-48 in a non-league matchup on Wednesday night.
Down by seven after the first quarter, the Tigers (2-0) unleashed a 20-point second stanza to pull ahead at halftime. They converted three field goals and three free throws in the last eight minutes to fend off the Eagles.
Anaya Saucedo led the way with 14 points for Centralia while Maddie Ahern and Makenzie Erickson each finished in double figures. Gunn brought down a team-best 17 rebounds, her second game with double digit boards.
The Tigers will continue their homestand on Thursday night against District 4 rival Hockinson.
