After a couple of cancellations and an opponent forfeit, the Napavine girls basketball team finally got back on the court on Thursday, and they did so in a big way by beating Toutle Lake 58-31.

The Tigers came out of the gate firing, scoring 34 points on 46.4 percent shooting while also limiting the Ducks to just 13 points on 18.2 percent.

Napavine (15-2, 8-1 C2BL) had more success in the second half, continuing to build on their lead with efficient shooting while forcing turnovers and limiting Toutle Lake possessions.

The Tigers scored 20 points off of Toutle Lake’s 16 turnovers, while the Ducks mustered just nine off of Napavine’s 16 turnovers.

Hayden Kaut and Keira O’Neill combined for 28 points to lead the Napavine offense, while Kaut also led the team with five steals and O’Neill hauled in nine rebounds, which tied for the team-high with Grace Gall.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday morning, when they’ll host Winlock.
