The Napavine girls basketball team’s strong start to the season continued on Friday, as the Tigers dominated at Wahkiakum in a 66-10 win.

The Tigers (4-0, 1-0 C2BL) didn’t allow a single point in the first quarter and took a 22-0 lead into the second, and that lead grew to 41-5 at halftime.

The defense continued to dominate in the second half, as the Mules managed just two points in the third quarter and three in the fourth.

Eleven different Tigers scored on the night, led by Hayden Faut, who was the lone Tiger to hit double digits with 17. Grace Gall added nine points while Taylen Evander, Jessie McCoy and Nicholle Valentine each tallied six.

Keira O’Neill led the team on the boards with eight rebounds, while Valentine and Hannah Fay each hauled in six.

Defensively, the Tigers were able to take the ball away at will, as they tallied 20 steals, led by Kaut and Alexis Schutz, who combined for nine.

The Tigers are off until Wednesday, when they’ll return home to host Toutle Lake.
