It took nearly doubling the offensive output in the fourth quarter for the Centralia High School girls basketball team to almost pull off a monumental rally before dropping a 56-45 Evergreen Conference contest on Thursday night in Aberdeen.
After scoring 24 total points in the first three quarters combined, the Tigers (5-11, 0-6 EvCo) put up 21 in the final frame, but the gap was too big to overcome. Aberdeen jumped out to a 15-point lead and registered 19 points in the third to lead by 20-plus.
Brooklyn Sprague led the Centralia scorers with 15 points while Maddie Ahern totaled 12 and Makenzie Erickson recorded 11. The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday night, hosting Tumwater.
