Playing with just 11 against Forks at home Monday evening, the Napavine girls soccer team got off to a slow start, but arrived after a second half barrage in a 4-1 win in Tiger Town.

Grace Pancake earned a brace for Napavine, scoring in the 14th minute off an assist from Hayden Kaut to get the game started, but not finding the back of the net again until the 51st minute, four minutes after Haley Gallagher’s goal in the 47th off a feed from Clara Fay.

Kaut put the finishing touches in the 66th minute, scoring off an assist from Hannah Fay, before the Spartans responded with a free kick goal in the 74th by Miley Blanton.

“We made the most with what we had,” assistant coach Chris Tarabochia said. “At halftime we talked about what wasnt working and what we needed to do, and the girls responded.”

The Tigers take on Ocosta on the road Wednesday before their regular season finale against Adna at home in a make-up contest on Friday.
