The Napavine boys basketball team led by 14 points at halftime, but turned that into a true blowout after the break in a one-sided second half, beating 1A Elma 85-44 on Saturday.
The result gives coach Rex Stanley his 400th career win at the helm of the Tigers.
Napavine held its guests to just 11 total points in the second half — six in the third quarter and five in the fourth — while scoring 38 of its own to create the huge margin. Elma, which shot 43.3% from the floor in the first two quarters, was a measly 3 for 26 shooting in the second half.
The Tigers (11-0, 4-0 C2BL), meanwhile, kept up their pace offensively, drilling seven 3-pointers in the first half and five more in the second.
James Grose dropped 33 points to lead the way, going 5 for 8 from behind the arc, 8 for 12 inside it and 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. He also led the Tigers with four assists, and had three steals and two blocks on defense.
Jarin Prather and Karsen Denault both added 16 points, the former hitting four triples and the latter going 6 for 8 from the field. Cayle Kelly had a team-high six rebounds.
Napavine will hit the long road to Cathlamet on Wednesday to face Wahkiakum.
