Brooklynn Bell, 15, of Rainier, qualified to compete in the Webb Roping Productions Breakaway Roping Competition at the Junior National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. The prestigious event will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Dec. 3 through Dec. 8.
Bell, the reigning reserve world champion in girls breakaway roping at the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in June, also qualified to compete in the Vegas Tuffest Junior World Championship the same week in December.
She will be one of over 1,300 entries from 31 different states, including three provinces in Canada, competing from Dec. 4 through Dec. 10.
Contestants have the opportunity to win their share of $1.75 million in cash and prizes. Bell will compete in the 15-and-under and 19-and-under girls breakaway roping event.
This is the second straight year that the homeschooled junior roper qualified for the Vegas Tuffest Junior World Championship.
