Thurston County Fair announces shift to four-day event, unveils 2025 mascot

The Thurston County Fair introduced its 2025 mascot, Disco Dave the Peacock, and announced Monday, Feb. 10, it is changing to a four-day event for 2025.

With his groovy style and vibrant plumage, Disco Dave will bring a funky energy to the fairgrounds while embodying the fun and festive spirit of the event, the county stated in a news release.

Organizers also announced this year’s fair will run from Thursday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 3. Each day will feature a special theme:

• Thursday, July 31: Thrifty Thursday — $1 entry with a donation to the Thurston County Food Bank

• Friday, Aug. 1: Wristband Friday — Carnival wristbands available for unlimited rides



• Saturday, Aug. 2: First Responders and Military Service Day—- $2 entry for those who serve our community, with valid identification

• Sunday, Aug. 3: Youth Day — $2 entry for youth ages 6 to 14

“We’re committed to delivering the same high-quality fair our community loves, just in a more condensed time frame,” Thomasina Cooper, Thurston County Fair and Event Center manager, said in a news release. “We’re confident this four-day format will create an even more vibrant and engaging experience for everyone.”
