Three Green Hill School juvenile detention center inmates faced drug-related charges in Lewis County Superior Court during their preliminary hearings on Tuesday.

All three young men face possession charges as each was found to be in possession of cannabis or cannabinoid-containing substances while residing in Green Hill School in Chehalis. Each of the defendants was also released without bail in this case, meaning they will remain in Green Hill School instead of being held in the Lewis County Jail.

Marshon Dayveon Jones was first on the list for Tuesday’s preliminary hearings and appeared via video call. During the hearing, Jones was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Jones was found in possession of a schedule one substance Dec. 14 of 2024 after showing signs of an overdose.

The affidavit claims Jones exited a bathroom showing signs of overdose, leading staff to search the bathroom. During the search, staff found an unknown substance that later tested positive for MDMB-4en-PINACA. The substance is a schedule one drug and synthetic cannabinoid.

Jones’ arraignment was scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 9.

Ali Sharif and Christopher Slipko both faced the same charge as Jones, possession of a controlled substance, narcotic, while in a state correctional facility. Each was found in possession of marijuana.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by prosecutors, Sharif was found to be in possession of a waxy substance that tested positive for marijuana during a room search July 12, 2024. Sharif’s arraignment was scheduled for Thursday Oct. 9.

Slipko’s room was searched after “suffering from an apparent overdose.”

During the search, a substance was found that tested positive for marijuana, according to court documents. His arraignment was scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 9.
