Three Tenino Beavers earned spots at Mat Classic on Saturday, winning crossover matches in the WIAA 1A District 4 Crossover meet to secure their state tournament bids.
Zachariah Ash earned his spot at 144 with a second-round pin of Seton Catholic’s Sebastian Stiltner, and Gavin Maurer did the same at 150 against Columbia (White Salmon)’s Robert Grabb IV.
Jaxon Johnson also advanced via pin in the second, defeating Fort Vancouver’s Bryce Bolinger at 215.
Mat Classic XXXVI is set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, at the Tacoma Dome.
