A new playground and picnic tables have been installed at Millet Field on Chehalis Avenue in Chehalis. The playground was a product of a partnership between Thorbecke's FitLife Center and the City of Chehalis.
Thorbecke's preschool helped pay for the project through silent auctions and candle sales, with matching funds provided by Thorbecke's management. The city of Chehalis installed the equipment and the surfacing material.
"It's a win-win for everyone involved," said Jenni Bodnar, chief operations manager of Thorbecke's. "Our goal was to offer a play area designed specifically for preschool age children and their families to enjoy."
