The youngest of three teenagers accused of murdering a man at a Toledo-area gas station in 2023 during an attempted armed robbery is now being charged as an adult in Lewis County Superior Court.
Daniel Keough faces one count each of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
Keough, Taylor Lenihan and Quinton Ramey, all from Redding, California, were arrested for first-degree robbery and first-degree murder in May 2023 following the murder of 30-year-old Navjot Singh.
Keough, Ramey and Lenihan were ages 15, 16 and 17, respectively, at the time of the murder.
Lenihan and Ramey were both charged as adults at the time, while Keough was charged as a juvenile.
Keough’s case was refiled in Lewis County Superior Court on Dec. 3 after Lewis County Juvenile Court declined jurisdiction, according to court documents.
Keough, now 18, pleaded not-guilty to all charges in the refiled case on Dec. 4. His trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 26.
Ramey pleaded guilty to murder and robbery charges in November 2024 and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
Lenihan pleaded guilty to robbery and firearm possession charges shortly after her arrest in May 2023, but her sentencing has been delayed until her codefendants' cases are resolved.
Keough also faces unrelated adult felony charges from a January escape attempt in which he allegedly assaulted two detention officers at the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center. Trial for that case is scheduled to begin Jan. 5.
