The Gilded Siren Meadery to celebrate opening in Centralia

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to celebrate at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Gilded Siren Meadery at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 7.

Located at 1640 S. Gold St. in Centralia, in the Fairway Center at the former Good Buzz Brewery location, the meadery will welcome guests with treats from neighboring bakery Lucky N Lawless and $1 off their first drink.

Owner Tori Leech purchased the business in April and opened in September, carrying forward her passion for meadmaking that began in 2020.

Embracing the meadery’s pirate-inspired theme, Leech has created a welcoming space where guests can enjoy a glass of mead, play games such as Magic: The Gathering or Dungeons & Dragons, and even dress up in their favorite Renaissance-inspired attire, according to a news release from the chamber.

“We are a family-friendly bar,” Leech said in the news release, noting that she has three children between the ages of 5 and 9.

Beyond the tasting room, Leech rents additional space next door where she produces the mead.

“We offer more fruit-forward flavors,” Leech said, “with an emphasis on sourcing ingredients locally whenever possible.”

She purchases fruit from local farmers markets when available and sources honey from regional suppliers, including a beekeeper in Adna, Hub City Honey in Centralia, and Robin’s Honey in Lakewood.

The result is a rotating selection of meads that highlights a variety of flavors and seasonal ingredients.

The Gilded Siren offers mead on tap at 6% alcohol by volume, along with bottled selections at 10% ABV and higher. Guests can also enjoy 5-ounce wine-style pours of any mead available.

Seasonal offerings and rotating flavors keep the menu fresh, giving customers something new to discover with each visit.

Food can be brought in from any local restaurant.

Those looking to enjoy The Gilded Siren’s mead outside the tasting room can also find its products at The Juice Box in downtown Centralia and at Jeremy’s Farm to Table in Chehalis.

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce hosts ribbon-cutting ceremonies to celebrate new businesses and recognize important milestones, relocations and expansions throughout the local business community.
