Community members can meet the candidates for Lewis County sheriff during a forum hosted by The Chronicle Thursday, April 2, at Jester Auto Museum in Chehalis.
Candidates Matt McKnight, Tracy Murphy, Danny Riordan and Kenneth Cheeseman have confirmed their participation.
Justin Kangas has also announced his intent to run for Lewis County sheriff, a position currently held by Rob Snaza, who announced he will not run for re-election.
The forum is not a debate but rather an informal opportunity for candidates to introduce themselves, briefly share their platforms and priorities, and engage with community members.
“Our goal is to provide voters with an early chance to learn more about those seeking this important position while giving candidates a relaxed setting to connect with residents,” The Chronicle publisher Chad Taylor said in an email.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event will begin at 6 p.m. Jester Auto Museum is located at 321 Hamilton Road in Chehalis.
