According to a news release, an annual meeting held by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office in Chehalis last Thursday included celebrations for employees of the office and county in general.

These included employee of the year awards, “Lifesaving Awards” and a “Warrior of the Year” title.

Employee of the year honors for 2022 were awarded to Deputy Chris Rubin, Corrections Deputy Aaron Parypa and support staff member Debbie Schang. Corrections Deputy Kelly Palacios received recognition as the corrections bureau’s “Top Performer.”

Sheriff Rob Snaza reportedly told the deputies: “The sacrifices you make are immeasurable. You’re never afraid to get into the fray to protect an innocent child who has been abused or save a suspect's life. Whatever it’s been, you've been there.”

“Lifesaving” awards, the release said, were presented to Sheriff’s Deputy Doug Lowrey and Corrections Deputies Aaron Parypa, Rebecca Snaza and Jonah Yost.

“We are the calm in the midst of a storm. We are the individuals, when someone needs help, that they call and together we are the best,” Rob Snaza is quoted as saying in the release.

The event was reportedly concluded by honoring Support Technician Lori Pulver with a special “Warrior of the Year Award” for her unwavering work ethic throughout the year while battling cancer.
