Tenino Young-At-Heart Theatre to Unveil New Building Designs on Saturday

Posted

This Saturday at 2 p.m., the Tenino Young-At-Heart Theatre (TYT) group will host a celebration to reveal designs for the new theater they hope to construct.

For 33 years, TYT, composed entirely of volunteers, has performed in various places in and around Tenino. Thanks to an anonymous donation, they will have a permanent theater to perform at.

The unveiling will take place at 548 Sussex Ave. in the Tenino Creative District. The presentation for the theater plan unveiling is scheduled for 3 p.m.

“TYT has been working behind the scenes with help of Trent Hart of TovaniHart Architects to develop a concept for a building that creates a space for the fine and performing arts as well as community spaces for other gatherings. It is TYT’s dream to create a facility that will become a cornerstone for events in the region,” TYT Artistic Director Isaac McKenzieSullivan said in a news release.

The event will also serve as a fundraiser for upcoming construction costs and will feature a silent auction and raffle with a variety of prizes. There will also be food, live music and entertainment as well as other fun activities until 5 p.m.
