The Tenino baseball team topped Montesano 10-6 on Tuesday to stay unbeaten and improve to 4-0.

It was back-and-forth early on, as both teams scored in the first and Tenino took a 2-1 lead in the second on an RBI single from Will Feltus.

Montesano responded with three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-2 lead, but the Beavers didn’t trail for long.

A six spot in the third put the Beavers (4-0, 1-0 1A Evergreen) ahead for good, and insurance runs in the fourth and sixth helped put it away.

After the Bulldogs got some runs across early, Oregon commit Kellan Knox settled in on the mound. He ended up pitching six innings, giving up six hits and five runs while walking one and striking out three.

Will Feltus led the Beavers at the plate, going 3 for 4 with three runs batted in. Austin Gonia tallied two base hits and drove in a run of his own while also drawing three walks.

Carson Hart, Jack Burkhardt, and Leland White all tallied multiple base hits. Hart and Burkhardt drilled long doubles and White drove in a run.

Tenino is slated to head to Eatonville for a doubleheader on Thursday.
