Jennifer Van De Wege is the new principal at Tenino Elementary School (TES), the school district announced in a news release on Monday.

Van De Wege formerly served as an elementary assistant principal and principal in the Port Angeles School District and has most recently served as the assistant principal of Tenino High School (THS).

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the TES community and the amazing things that are happening there,” Van De Wege stated. “This new role allows me to continue to invest in the relationships I have created this year as the assistant principal at THS as well (as) use my years of experience as an elementary school principal in Port Angeles. I look forward to the fantastic things we will achieve together!”

Van De Wege replaces Charles Harrington, who retired at the end of the last school year after eight years in the position.

“The Tenino School District is deeply appreciative of all Mr. Harrington has done to support our students with eight years of service,” the district stated in the release.

“Mr. Harrington’s commitment to our students, district and community will leave a lasting and positive impact for years to come. We all wish Mr. Harrington the best as he enters this new and exciting chapter.”
