The Tenino volleyball team defeated Elma in four sets on the road Thursday night 23-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-9.

Freshman Violet Zimmer played with fire, going 32 of 34 from the service line while tacking on eight kills and seven digs.

“For only being a freshman, she played beyond her age level,” Tenino head coach Shauna Carpenter said.

The Beavers also got a big night from Sequoia Zimmer, who tallied 30 assists, eight digs and one kill while going 13-16 from the service line. Katen Burkhardt logged 20 kills, three aces, eight digs and two blocks. Kendall Bowe put up five aces while missing just two of 14 serves.

Tenino (8-7, 4-2 Evergreen) has won five of its last six matches and will look to stay hot when it visits Hoquiam on Oct. 21 before hosting Rochester on Oct. 23.
