It took until the very end, but the Beavers were on the right side of the scoreboard for the first time this winter, triumphing over the Tigers 45-42 in Centralia on Tuesday night.

An eight-point cushion for Tenino (1-6) was wiped away at the half, then brought back to life with 16 points in the third quarter. Jeremiah McKague led the way with 13 points while Henry Czuleger contributed 12 points.

It marks just the second time so far Tenino has scored over 40 points and the first time its allowed under 50. Centralia, also now at 1-6, had chances in the final frame to come out on top, but couldn’t prevail.

Johnny Ruiz ended the night with a team-best 13 points plus Braden Baine and Kadin Yeung combined for 17. The Tigers get a second meeting with Rochester in the span of a week on Friday night while the Beavers face Raymond/South Bend on Friday.
