T-Wolves take down Cardinals

The Morton-White Pass girls basketball team beat Winlock handily in a Central 2B League showdown Friday, 63-21.

McKenzee Mays led the T-Wolves (1-1, 1-0 C2BL) with 11 points. Kiera Miller had nine points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Malia Armstrong had nine points, six rebounds and five assists, while Natalia Armstrong had six points, six steals and three assists.

“The sisters have a great feel for the game and provide solid leadership and experience,” MWP coach Tim Roberts said.

Freshman Ryelin Wiedenmann contributed eight points and led the T-Wolves on the glass with 10 rebounds.

Winlock’s Kindyl Kelly led all scorers with 13 points, but the Cardinals (1-3, 0-1 C2BL) found themselves on the wrong side of a 22-2 run in the first quarter.

Morton-White Pass will face Rainier on Wednesday, while Winlock will play at Kalama.
