The Morton-White Pass volleyball team overcame a slow start in Raymond on Monday night, overcoming a first-set loss to defeat Raymond-South Bend 18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.
“The girls battled hard tonight,” MWP coach Jamie Brazil said. “Even when we fell behind, they didn’t get down on themselves. Instead, they came together, fought for every point and shifted the momentum back to our side … That team energy made all the difference.”
Ryelin Wiedenmann led the offense with 19 kills, and she added 11 digs, three blocks, and a pair of aces. Brooklyn Montoure added 14 kills, four aces, and four digs, and Ryleigh Johnson finished with seven blocks and three kills.
Hayden Brazil and Jewel Dygert finished with 10 digs each, and Malia Armstrong added nine. Chevy Fuller added four kills and two blocks, Karah Fairhart tallied four blocks, three aces, and two kills, and Crystal Dygert finished with 28 assists and a kill.
Wiedenmann, Armstrong, and Crystal Dygert were each perfect from the service line as well.
MWP (7-3, 0-1 C2BL) will go for its first league win of the year on Tuesday in Winlock.
