T-Birds win rematch with Highclimbers

A change of scenery only changed the difference between the Tumwater boys basketball team and Shelton by a few points, with the T-Birds riding a strong second quarter to a 54-43 win for their second victory over the Highclimbers in 24 hours.

The game was tied 9-9 after a low-scoring first-quarter, but the Thunderbirds (10-6, 7-1 2A Evco) went on a 20-8 run in the following eight minutes, thanks in large part to four 3-pointers from freshman Landon Anchors.

Anchors hit another triple in the third, and finished with 15 points to lead the guests. Clay Morgan added 11 points, while Beckett Wall had eight.

Tumwater is set for its third game in as many days Wednesday — and the third game in a five-game week — when it plays at Centralia.
