T-Birds top Tigers in first road league game

The Tumwater boys basketball team took care of Centralia on Friday, defeating the Tigers 72-43.

The Thunderbirds led by just one after the first quarter but pushed their lead to 16 before halftime by scoring 23 in the second quarter. They continued to extend their lead in the third by outscoring Centralia 24-10, which pushed the lead to 30.

Sahara Anthony led the T-Birds in scoring with 14 points, while Beckett Wall and Luke Overbay both added 10. Bryce Morgan scored nine points while adding seven rebounds and six assist, and Braeden Konrad tallied nine points of his own.

Landon Anchors scored eight points, and Jake Dillon scored seven points, dished out four assists, and nabbed four steals.

Kadin Yeung led Centralia with a game-high 16 points, while Terrell Sanders and Trevor Griffis both scored eight.

Tumwater (7-2, 2-0 2A EvCo) will host Washington on Saturday, while Centralia (2-9, 2A EvCo) will head to Rochester for a non-league contest on Monday.
