The Tumwater football team went far west and came back home with a key win in a battle of undefeated-in-league sides, blowing out Aberdeen 55-0 in 2A EvCo action Friday.

Quarterback Ethan Kastner finished 4 for 5 on the night, and two of his completions went for touchdowns, with an 18-yard strike to David Malroy starting the scoring in the first quarter, and a 34-yard touchdown to Jake Dillon capping off a 20-point second to give the Thunderbirds (6-0, 3-0 2A EvCo) a 27-0 lead at the break.

Then, it was time for the special teams to go to work. Kooper Clark took the opening kick of the third quarter back to the house to make it 34-0, and after another defensive stop, Malroy housed a punt return.

On the ground, Logan Cole led the way with 90 rushing yards and scored a 37-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Mathias Rodriguez plunged in from a yard out for a touchdown of his own, and Jaylin Nixon wrapped up the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 9-yard run.

The Tumwater defense finished its night with just 85 yards allowed.

The T-Birds will look to keep rolling next Friday, at home against Shelton.
