The Tumwater softball team fell behind early to Black Hills on Friday, but the Thunderbirds stormed back to take the lead before piling on in a 15-3 victory.

Black Hills led 3-1 after the first inning, but Tumwater took the momentum right back with a six-run second before tacking on three more runs in the third to make it 10-3. Five more runs in the fifth put the game in run-rule territory.

Megan Barrett went 3 for 4 with a triple and three runs batted in, while Marissa La Praim collected two hits and drove in three runs of her own. Sophie Skillman drove in two runs as part of a three-hit day, while Sarah Stevens and Zoe Fields also drove in two runs each.

Stevens settled down in the circle after the rocky first inning. She didn’t allow another run in her final four innings, and she finished with four strikeouts.

Hannah O’Shurak drove in two of the Wolves’ three runs, and Madi Malone drove in the other.

Both the T-Birds and the Wolves will be back in action on Monday. Tumwater (10-2, 8-1 2A EvCo) will host W.F. West and Black Hills (6-6, 3-5 2A EvCo) will take the trip to Shelton.
