T-Birds beat Bobcats with balanced offense, stifling defense

Nobody truly went off for the Tumwater boys basketball team Thursday in Aberdeen, but the T-Birds still didn’t have any trouble with the host Bobcats in a 59-27 win.

Twelve separate players got in on the scoring action for the Thunderbirds (8-6, 6-1 2A EvCo), though none finished in double-figures. Sahara Anthony III and Clay Morgan both scored eight points to lead the guests, while Reis Howell and Beckett Wall both added seven, and Malijah Tucker and Landon Anchors both scored six.

On the other side of the court, though, the T-Birds held the Bobcats under 10 points in all four quarters, including limiting them to just 10 in the entire second half to turn an 11-point game at the break into a 22-point coaster.

Tumwater will get the weekend off, then get ready to face Shelton twice in two days thanks to weather reschedules — playing the Highclimbers in Tumwater on Monday and at Shelton on Tuesday.
