From the first play of the game, it was clear that Carter Svenson was ready to go. He opened his season with an 88-yard touchdown pass to John Mansfield to put Winlock on top against Chief Leschi instantly.
That long touchdown was a sign of things to come, as Svenson went on to score seven total touchdowns in Winlock’s dominant 46-19 win over the Warriors.
Svenson found David Cason for a 10-yard touchdown later in the first for his second touchdown before adding a 60-yard touchdown run for his third of the frame.
The second was even more impressive. After a 1-yard touchdown run, he connected with Arean Thapa for a 45-yard touchdown pass before adding two more touchdown runs of 34 and 22 yards.
In addition to the seven touchdowns, Svenson finished with 410 total yards.
Cason finished with 99 yards receiving and a touchdown on three catches, and Mansfield hauled in five catches for 124 yards and his touchdown.
Winlock (1-0) will head to Ocosta next Friday, Sept. 12.
