A suspect who damaged a Tesla supercharger in Lacey last week started a fire at the site and may have been injured as a result, the FBI announced Friday.
About 1:30 a.m. April 8, the FBI says a man started a fire at the vehicle charging station in the 600 block of Sleater Kinney Road SE. The fire resulted in substantial damage to the station and surrounding area, according to the FBI.
They also say the man may have been hurt as a result.
“This individual may have injuries consistent with being in close proximity to an explosion or intense heat, such as a concussion, burns, or shrapnel injuries,” a news release reads.
The suspect is a white man who is between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2 in height. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket with a hood, gray pants and a face covering.
“The suspect walks with a unique gait, including a slight limp with his right leg kicking out and, at times, his right hand held behind his back. He was carrying a white bag, which may have been plastic,” the news release reads.
