A 25-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a 14-year-old boy and wounding three others last November was arrested Friday morning after an hours-long search in Southeast Portland.

Aquize Gerrian Logan, of Portland, was taken into custody after he was found hiding in a trailer in a driveway of a home, police said.

Logan is accused of killing Marik Roscoe inside a home near Southeast 125th Avenue and Division Street on Nov. 16. A 17-year-old boy and a 42-year-old man also were wounded in the shooting. A 19-year-old suffered injuries but not from gunshots, according to police.

At the time of the shooting, Portland police Chief Bob Day said it appeared those involved knew each other.

Logan was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on warrants accusing him of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm, six counts of unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of menacing.

Police had active warrants for Logan in connection with the November homicide.

On Friday, a 1:45 a.m. call about an assault in progress in the Richmond neighborhood drew officers to the 3800 block of Southeast Ivon Street. They forced their way into a home and confronted Logan, who escaped by jumping from a second story of the residence into the backyard, police said. An assault victim in the home was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Officers, with help from a police plane flying overhead, police-operated drones and police dogs, scoured the neighborhood in search of Logan.

They set up a perimeter from Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard to 37th Avenue and Division Street to Taggart Street to search for Logan. They located him at 6:39 a.m. Friday, police said.

Additional charges may be filed against Logan in connection with the Friday assault call, police said. Police did not identify the victim of the alleged assault.

Logan was previously convicted in 2023 of attempted rape and strangulation and sentenced in October 2023 to five years in prison with credit for time served, according to court records.

Last March, he violated the conditions of his post-prison supervision by failing to allow a home visit, the records show.
