An arrest was made Wednesday after a gun was reportedly displayed during a robbery at the Lewis County Coffee Co. stand on South Tower Avenue in Centralia on Monday.

No injuries were reported. Officers with the Centralia Police Department arrested the suspect, identified as Jonah Michael Johnson, 40, on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

The incident was reported just before 2:55 p.m. on Dec. 11, according to the Centralia Police Department.

The male suspect, who has since been identified as Johnson, reportedly approached a barista, displayed a gun and demanded money before he “took off running,” at which time “the victim also took off running,” according to Centralia Police Chief Stacy Denham.

The Centralia Police Department deployed two K9s to search the area, but they were unable to locate the suspect Monday afternoon. He was seen running eastbound toward the railroad tracks on Monday.

Johnson was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree robbery at 12:48 p.m. on Dec. 13, according to jail records. Commending his officers for their diligent work on the case, Denham told a Chronicle reporter Wednesday afternoon that they had a confession from the suspect.

Charges had not been formally filed in Lewis County Superior Court as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Tower Avenue Lewis County Coffee Co. stand was closed the day after the robbery,

Dec. 12, and reopened for business as usual on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
