People who live, work and travel along state Route 507 in Centralia are invited to share their experiences and help identify future transportation needs along the highway, the Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced in a news release this week.
WSDOT and Centralia are asking the community to provide input as part of the SR 507 Active Transportation and Community Engagement Plan.
The area of study focuses on Pearl Street and Tower Avenue, as state Route 507 is called within city limits, as well as roads connecting the downtown corridor to Interstate 5.
The survey is open through Friday, Oct. 30.
Community members are encouraged to share how they use state Route 507 today, where they experience challenges, and what they think could work better. Feedback will help WSDOT and the city identify and prioritize potential transportation improvements along the corridor.
As Centralia grows, more people and goods will rely on state Route 507 and nearby roads. WSDOT and Centralia are studying potential improvements to address traffic, walking and biking connections, transit access and future transportation needs.
The planning study will look at how people travel through the area, identify gaps, and explore potential improvements to make travel safer and more reliable.
This is the first of two opportunities for the community to provide input. A second opportunity in late 2026 will share potential improvements shaped by community feedback and study findings and ask the community to weigh in again.
Residents can complete the survey at bit.ly/SR507Survey.
The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete.
Feedback will be reviewed and summarized, with the results posted on the study webpage. The final study summary and recommended improvements are expected in May 2027.
