The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad and museum has announced it will hold a summer fundraising event from 4 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 9 for the renovation of its historic Passenger Car No. 603.

The fundraiser will be a 70s themed dinner and train ride, with live music, food and drinks, and even prizes for the best costume, whether its bell bottoms, tie-dye or disco, a news release from the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad stated.

The event begins at 4 p.m. with a casual cocktail hour. A full bar with signature cocktails, beer and wine will be offered for purchase.

The train ride departs at 5 p.m., with panoramic views of the countryside. Inside and outside seats are available, and bar service is provided during the trip.

The train returns at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will then be served, with catering provided by Joy’s Once Upon a Thyme. Following dinner, there will be live music by Rock City Band and some old-fashioned games. The evening festivities conclude at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $79 per person, and support the Chehalis-Centralia Historic Passenger Renovation Project, which funds the Passenger Car No. 603 project, according to the news release.

The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad is a historic nonprofit railroad dedicated to preserving the railway history of the Pacific Northwest. The train departs from the Chehalis-Centralia Train Depot, located at 1101 SW Sylvenus St., Chehalis, Exit 77 off I-5.
