The Chehalis City Council voted unanimously Monday to accept a roof installation donation for the Babe Ruth concession building at Stan Hedwall Park.
Two facilities at Stan Hedwall Park — the soccer and Babe Ruth concession and restroom buildings — were identified as needing roof replacements. City staff began obtaining quotes with the goal of completing the projects by year’s end.
The Roof Doctor of Chehalis offered to donate the replacement of the smaller of the two roofs. The construction of both roofs have been completed.
The donated work included installation of 30-year shingles, new plywood sheathing and fascia boards. The total value of the donation, including tax, was $14,829.12.
“The city extends its sincere appreciation to The Roof Doctor for their generous contribution to the park’s improvement,” city staff wrote in an agenda report.
There is no fiscal impact to the city, according to the agenda report.
