With the summer solstice approaching — happening exactly at 7:42 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, June 20, according to NASA — paranormal investigators from throughout the Pacific Northwest will be converging in Lewis County for a pair of Bigfoot events to mark the longest day of the year.
In Chehalis, Bigfoot Treasure is hosting Squatchy Summer Solstice Saturday, and the Legends of the Mountains Townhall is being held on Saturday and Sunday in Packwood.
Squatchy Summer Solstice Saturday
On Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Bigfoot Treasure in downtown Chehalis will host the Squatchy Summer Solstice Saturday event.
During the event, Tyler Kennedy, host of the Bigfoot and the Citizen Scientist podcast, will be on hand to discuss his own possible Sasquatch encounter and talk with other cryptid hunters who believe they may have also seen the elusive creature.
“Plus, squatchy savings throughout Bigfoot Treasure,” a social media post added.
Earlier this year, Bigfoot Treasure owner Mitch Moberg told The Chronicle that while he is a sponsor of the Legends of the Mountains Townhall, he needed to stay in Chehalis to run his business. So, he decided to at least host one speaker at his store as well for local Bigfoot hunters who may not be able to make it all the way out to Packwood this weekend.
During this event, other downtown Chehalis businesses will also be participating in Summer Solstice Saturday with sidewalk sales and other deals available.

Legends of the Mountains Townhall
Coinciding with Squatchy Summer Solstice Saturday over in East Lewis County, multiple paranormal investigators and Bigfoot researchers will be appearing at the Legends of the Mountains Townhall.
Along with sharing their own stories, the investigators and researchers will also listen to local residents share their own alleged Sasquatch sightings here in Lewis County.
The two-day event will be held at Longmire Springs Brewing, located at 112 Norman Way in Packwood. It starts at 9 a.m. with a vendor market on both Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22.
On Saturday, the town hall portion will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with the following speakers scheduled after:
• Patty Valdez, of South Sound Paranormal Research, from 11:15 a.m. to noon
• Scott Taylor, of the Bigfoot Researchers Organization, from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.
• Mel Skahan, Yakama Nation member and Indigenous Bigfoot researcher, from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m.

Then, on Sunday, the town hall will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by Thom Cantrall, former logger and forester turned Bigfoot researcher and author, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. The final event will be a speaker panel from 1:30 to to 2:15 p.m.
