Spikes with swastikas drawn on them found on roads around Southwest Washington town

Posted

Three wood blocks bearing swastikas and with long nails pounded through them, apparently meant to puncture car tires, were found on roads around Yacolt last week, town officials said in a statement.

The wood blocks have “Kent” scrawled on them, possibly a reference to Joe Kent, a Washington state Republican who ran two unsuccessful campaigns for Congress.

Yacolt is about 30 miles northeast of Vancouver.

Local officials advised people to “use caution and keep your eyes open.” They have asked anyone who finds a spike to carefully pick it up and turn it in to town hall.

Authorities have not said whether they’ve identified any suspects.
