Snowcat drivers, snow gun operators and the ski patrol are finishing preparations to open the White Pass Ski Area with an early morning storm having put down over half a foot of fresh powder on Friday over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Snowboarders and skiers anxious to hit the slopes will have to continue being patient though, as the ski resort — which typically opens sometime during the first 10 days of December — has yet to announce the exact date for its opening day, according to the Nov. 28 snow report on its website, which was still available on Monday, Dec. 1.
“While we had hoped to open this weekend, Mother Nature apparently wanted us to spend Thanksgiving with the family,” the snow report stated. “We are hoping for a White Pass Family Reunion very soon … The crew is making snow running 20-plus guns whenever temps allow and we are hoping to open by next weekend. We'll keep you updated on progress.”
Should the White Pass Ski Area open this upcoming weekend, lift tickets will be available on the ski resort’s website at https://estore.skiwhitepass.com/.
