Sirens: Woman arrested for drugs after passing out in vehicle; man huffing substance cited for trespassing; counterfeit money reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Danica Ann Nikolich, 44, of Centralia, was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. The arrest stemmed from Centralia police being dispatched to a female slumped in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle at about 10:25 p.m. Aug. 6. Upon arrival, officers saw drug paraphernalia in Nikolich’s lap as she was passed out in the 1000 block of South Yew Street. Evidence was seized after obtaining a search warrant.

• Marcus P. Redpath, 21, of Morton, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 2:46 p.m. Aug. 6 for allegedly violating a no-contact order in place in the 700 block of South Tower Avenue.

• Tomas Leonardo-Vargas, 52, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 4:54 p.m. Aug. 6 for alleged violation of a no-contact order and driving under the influence in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road.

• Christian Pantoja-Martinez, 24, of Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail at about 6:49 a.m. Aug. 7 for allegedly obstructing a law enforcement officer and driving on a suspended license. Officers responded to a dispute between Pantoja and a female in the 200 block of South Diamond Street. Pantoja refused to comply with officers' orders, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department.

• Marilyn E. Johnson, 25, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail at about 10:33 a.m. Aug. 7 for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue.

 

Malicious mischief

• Damage to a trailer was reported in the 2400 block of North Pearl Street at about 4:18 p.m. Aug. 7. No arrests were made. This case remains under investigation.

 

Vehicle collision

• A vehicle hit a guardrail at the corner of Ellsbury Street and Mellen Street before leaving the scene at about 9:31 a.m. Aug. 6.

• A two-vehicle collision was reported at West First Street and North Pearl Street at about 5:17 p.m. Aug. 6. No arrests were made.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• James A. Fodge, 29, of Centralia, was issued criminal citation for one count of unlawful inhalation and one count of second-degree criminal trespass after being spotted sitting on a curb in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue huffing a can of an unknown substance at about 11:40 a.m. July 31. Fodge later was observed exiting the Walgreens in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at around 11:58 a.m. and was cited for second-degree criminal trespass.

• Jordan C. Biggs, 45, of Seattle, was issued a criminal citation at about 8:24 p.m. Aug. 3 for driving under influence at the intersection of Northwest North Street and Northwest Chehalis Avenue before being arrested by a Washington State Patrol trooper.

• Sara-Jane M. Budziak, 18, of Centralia, was arrested at around 7:58 p.m. Aug. 5 for one count of third-degree theft after allegedly attempting to shoplift from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 



Theft

• A Honda Accord in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard was broken into some time between 6 and 10 p.m. July 30. The owner’s cash and debit card were stolen.

 

Vehicle collision

• A vehicle accident involving one vehicle and one pedestrian occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at around 5:51 p.m. Aug. 1. The pedestrian was on the ground at the time of the call, but conscious and talking.

• A two-vehicle collision happened around 6:10 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Damage was reported, but no injuries, and the cars did not block any roads.

• An Amazon Prime van ran into an unoccupied parked vehicle in the 200 block of Northeast Washington Avenue at about 3:56 p.m. Aug. 3.

• A hit-and-run was reported at 9:13 a.m. Aug. 4 in the 400 block of Northwest State Avenue.

 

Counterfeit money

• An employee in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard received a counterfeit $100 bill at around 11:03 a.m. Aug. 3. No issues were reported with the customer who gave the bill.

• An employee in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported being paid with two possibly counterfeit $50 bills at about 5:29 p.m. Aug. 6. The customer who paid with the bills was said to possibly be at Michael’s.

Criminal trespass

• A guest refused to leave a business in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place after refusing to pay her large bill at about 4:14 p.m. Aug. 6. The guest was agitated but seemed confused, and the caller stated she may have had mental issues.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 156 inmates, including 154 in the general population and two in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 136 were reported male and 18 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, zero were reported male and two were reported female.
