Arrests
• Jerah R. Fitzpatrick, 44, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 8:37 a.m. Aug. 8. According to police, K9 Havik performed an “exterior sniff” of Fitzpatrick’s vehicle and detected the odor of narcotics. Officers reportedly obtained a search warrant and found drug paraphernalia and suspected fentanyl inside.
• James C. Tryon, 51, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for allegedly violating a no-contact order in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:29 p.m. Aug. 8.
• Ella Almont, 19, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) in the 1400 block of Delaware Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. Aug. 9. Police said a juvenile was also arrested for alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
Accidents
• Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision near the corner of West First Street and G Street at about 3:41 p.m. Aug. 9.
Possession of controlled substances
• Kelvin B. Kempf, 39, Centralia, was arrested and released with a criminal citation for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the 100 block of South Pearl Street at about 2:59 p.m. Aug. 8.
Suspected drug violation
• Officers conducted a welfare check after an unknown person called 911 asking for help in the 500 block of North Tower Avenue at about 1:31 a.m. Aug. 9. As they checked the area, officers reportedly saw suspected drugs inside a vehicle. Officers contacted the vehicle’s owner, who reportedly denied knowledge of the suspected narcotics and gave officers consent to retrieve the suspected drugs from the vehicle. According to police, the registered owner said they had transported other parties in the vehicle to celebrate a birthday.
Theft
• A theft involving a counterfeit $100 bill was reported in the 2600 block of Seward Avenue at about 2:42 p.m. Aug. 8.
• Tires were reported stolen from a local business in the 1500 block of Kresky Avenue at about 3:52 p.m. Aug. 8. Police said a suspect has been identified, and the case remains under investigation.
• A theft at a local retail establishment was reported in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:41 p.m. Aug. 8. Police said suspect information had been provided and was being investigated.
• Gia Nizbet, 18, Chehalis, was arrested after allegedly stealing candy and spices from a store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 8:35 p.m. Aug. 9.

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Aug. 10, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 154 inmates, including 141 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 108 were reported male and 33 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Aug. 10, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 26 inmates. Of those, 10 were from Centralia and nine were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were two from the Lummi Nation, two from the Skokomish Tribe, and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
